SUMMARY

Being a Secretary at Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan (DISPORAPARBUD) Probolinggo Regency, Uvillah Zahrotul Jannah, NIM F31140870, Year 2017. 44 pages, Language, Communication and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember. Nila Susanti, SS, M.Pd (Internal Supervisor) and Drs. Teguh Sukarsono, MM (External Supervisor).

Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) is a college that conduct vocational education. POLIJE have eight departments and nineteen study programs. One of study program is English study program in Language, Communication and Tourism department. English study program has several competencies, those are main competencies, supporting competencies and others competencies. To finish this program, the student should be join all meeting in lecturing class, join all of examination, completely with finishing final project and conduct the internship program. I took forward to choose Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Probolinggo Regency as the place for conduct internship program. In addition to apply my English skill in general and specific English, prepare my self to be professional and increase my knowledge. This internship program also has some significances as the references for me, for the student of English study program, for Politeknik Negeri Jember and for Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Probolinggo Regency. I conducted the internship program for about three months from 13rd March 2017 up to 9th June 2017.
Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Probolinggo Regency had an organizational structure that consisted of four Division, those were: Secretarial Division, Youth and Sporting Divisions, Art and Culture Divisions, and Tourism Division. Each division had several sub-divisions that supported the duties. I placed in Tourism Division which had three Sub-Division, those were Tourism Object Sub-Division, Marketing Sub-Division and Development of Ecokraf and Tourism Resources Sub-Division. Tourism Division had the responsibility in arranging and implementing programs along with the efforts to increase the attraction and promotion of tourism.
Many activities when I conducted the internship program at DISPORAPARBUD especially in tourism division, such as handling coming and outgoing letter; writing; typing; printing; scanning; designing, making, and copying some document. I was being front office staff. I also translating travel map of tourism object in Probolingo regency, arranging questionnaire about Wisata Bromo Syariah, and joining some meetings. Beside doing activity in the office, I also did activity outside the office by visiting some tourism object such as visit to Bentar beach, visited to Ronggojalu lake, joined event “Pelatihan Berbasis Kompetensi SDM Kepariwisataan Bidang Kepemanduan Wisata”, joined exhibition “VISIT TO KRAKSAAN”, and came to the event “Lomba MC Anggota Dharma Wanita Persatuan Probolinggo Regency dalam Rangka Hari Kartini dan Hari Jadi Probolinggo Regency Ke-271 Tahun 2017”.
I focused on the activity as the secretary at Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Probolinggo Regency. Those activity were handling incoming and outgoing letter, being front office staff and making daily clipping about tourism object. There were some problems when I did some job but I can solve those problem by asking to any staff on there. Based on the problem, I could learn many things that I did not got when I did lecturing or practicum class. So, I was very grateful caused by relationship between Politeknik Negeri Jember and Dinas, Pemuda, Olahraga, Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Probolinggo Regency.
