Lumajang Tourism and Culture District Agency was a department that manages
and develops tourism objects and culture in Lumajang Regency. It was located at
Kawasan Wonerjo Terpadu (KWT) Lumajang Regency. Lumajang Regency has
many tourism destinations. It included nature tourism object, historical tourism
object, cultural tourism object and recreation tourism object. So, it makes
Lumajang Tourism and Culture District Agency has important responsibilities to
develop tourism in Lumajang be better and shall promote the tourism objects in
order to attract foreign and domestic visitors want to visit Lumajang.
Based on the reason above, I was interested to conduct my internship
program at Lumajang Tourism and Culture District Agency because I wanted to
apply my skills that I got when I studied in English Study Program. During my
internship program at Lumajang Tourism and Culture District Agency, I was
assigned in Marketing Division. The activities that I did were recording and
archiving incoming letters, making a letter, making short articles, confirming
document and making a report of activities. In conducting those activities, I found
some difficulties like when I recorded and archived incoming letters, I got
confused with the name of desposisi and the most difficult activity was
confirming document. I had to interact with any characters and confirm an
important document to several divisions that I never did in my practicum classes.
But, after I got this experience, I can learn new knowledge that I never know
before. Based on the explanation, it was clear that Lumajang Tourism and Culture
District Agency was an appropriate place to conduct the internship program for
me as the student of English Study Program of Language, Communication and
Tourism Department of State Polytechnic of Jember.
