Daily Activities As a Marketing Staff At Luna Tour Travel & Event Organizer Jember-East Ika Ayu Yulianti. F31140396. 2017. 33 Pages. Language, Communication, and Tourism Department Politeknik Negeri Jember.

Luna Tour Travel & Event Organizer has seven departments they are Operational Manager, Finance Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Ticketing Division, Tour Operational, Freelance, and Tour Leader. But the main department are Ticketing and Marketing Division. During the internship program I was placed in Marketing division department as a marketing staff. Marketing staff has responsible for handling the customers who want to use the services product and also has responsible in promoting the services product of the company. The activity in this department start on Monday up to Saturday from 08.00 am until 04.00 pm except in Saturday the activity start from 08.00 am until 12.00 am.
Beside that as a marketing staff I also has responsible to book hotel and restaurant when the company held a trip. As a marketing staff I should prepare all of the custome’s need start from transportation and accommodation. The other activities as a marketing staff is learning about tour package and itinerary, Promoting the tour package, and Writing invoice. The objectives of my internship program are to apply my knowledge and english skill that already given in the class direcly. Second is to get new experience and knowledge about Travel Agency business. Third is to boost my skill in communication especially in team work, then to train my discipline and also the way to think in solving the problem in work place. The last is to prepare myself when I should work the real workplace someday.
In doing my internship program I faced some problem in handling the customers because never handle the customers directly before. In the second week when the staff ask me to handle the customers directly I still nerveous and confuse in explaining the tour package. To solve this problem I learn all of the content of the tour packet continuously then ask to the staff even I learn from the internet how to handle the customers.
Based on the explanation above I concluded that Luna Tour Travel & Event Organizer is an appropriate place to conduct the internship program. Because this activity give me a lot of advantages and new experience. So I can apply my skill that I got in my collage. I suggest to students of English Study Program who want to conduct internship program in Luna Tour Travel & Event Organizer should prepare all of the skill such as computer skill such as operating Microsoft Office, communication skill and also have good attitude..
