Internship program becomes one of graduation requirement from the students of Politeknik Negeri Jember. The students could choose the place of the internship program that relevant with their passion, skills, and also the student background knowledge. As the students of English Study Program, the writer also conducted the internship program to apply the skills and competences which the writer got from lecturing and practicum class in English Study Program. The writer chose Kusuma Agrowisata as the place to conduct internship program to apply the skill that have learnt in the collage.
Kusuma Agrowisata is one of the tourism objects that grow significantly in Batu City that run business in the tourism sectors. To give the best service to the visitors, Kusuma Agrowisata provides some supporting divisions to give the best service to the tourists such as Reception Subdivision, Marketing Subdivision, Outbound Subdivision, Alamanda Resto Subdivision, and Guiding Subdivision.
During the internship program I was placed at Agrotourism Division. Agrotourism Division has five Subdivisions, there were Reception Subdivision, Marketing Subdivision, Outbound Subdivision, Alamanda Resto Subdivision, and Guiding Subdivision.
In my internship program most of my activities was placed in Guiding Subdivision as a guide. I did some main activities related to guide jobs. There were welcoming guest, guiding the guests go to plantations area, answer the question from the guest, and the last was closing the guiding activities.
Finally, I finished my Internship program for about 384 hours at Kusuma Agrowisata. Being a professional tour guide is really unforgettable experience that I ever got in the collage before. By having such working experiences as a guide at Kusuma Agrowisata, I believed that I would be able to work as professional guide in the future.
