Subtitling video of handling telephone ettiquette for vocational high school was my final project which was dedicated for department of language, communication and tourism, Politeknik Negeri Jember. This product of final project based on the need in the teaching and learning process in Tata Kelola Perkantoran Department. The students need an effective media to make teaching and learning process easier. This video was design for every body who want to handle the telephone and to learn how to choose the attitude every caller.
In making subtitling video, the writer adapted the procedure from Newmark (1988) in Ahmad et all (2010) and Suryawinta and Hariyanto in Budianto et all (2010), there are: word-for-word translation, literal translation, free translation, addition, substraction and borrowing. The writer choose those kinds of translation procedure because those steps are simply and suitable in translating the transcript of the video. This video talks about telephone ettiquette of handling telephone when the telephone begins to make a noise, when called ringing how to choose the attitude and be in the moment every caller, and give some technique how to dealing with the difficult customer.
The writer got several problems in finishing the product of this final project, such as in catching what the speaker said at that time. Based on that problem, the writer try to listened the video in several times in order to catch the whole content of the video. The writer also found difficulties in translating the source language of the video to the target language. The writer had to pay more attention in translating the script to the target languge so that the translation result would be clearly.

As the result we can conclude, the writer got knowledge about how to
subtitling a video entitle “Telephone Ettiquette” from English version into
Bahasa Indonesia. After finishing this product, the writer showed the video in
Bahasa Indonesia to the teacher of Otomatisasi dan Tata Kelola Perkantoran
Department in SMKN 1 Jember and she told to the writer there was no problem
on the video. Hopefully this product of final project will help the teaching and
learning process and make it easier for the students to understand the content of
the video.
