SUMMARY
Developing a Tutorial Video of English Conversation for Local People at
Papuma Beach Jember. Ria Mega Wati, Nim F31140658, Year 2018, 47 pages.,
Language, Communication, and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember,
Yuslaili Ningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd (First Supervisor) and Nanik Mariyati, S.Pd., M.Pd
(Second Supervisor).
Jember fashion carnival is one of international event in Jember district that
attract many visitors both local and international. This makes some the iconic tourism
objects also in interest by tourists. It demands a local people of Papuma beach,
especially service providers to be able communicate with the tourists. English is the
commonly used by international tourist because english is an international language.
Thus, the writer decided to make a tutorial video to help them.
The tutorial video provides tips, example and motivation for local people to
communicate in english. The tutorial video is divided into three parts, it covers
opening, content and closing. In the opening part, the writer introduced herself and
the materials delivered the topic of the tutorial video. In the content part, the writer
gave five tips how to interact with the international tourist and four example of
conversation. In the closing part, the writer giving motivation for local people to
speak English with the international tourist.
While doing this final project, there are some advantages and difficulties that the
writer got. Those advantages were the writer could improve her writing skill by
applying it in making the script, her speaking skill in pronouncing the word or
sentences and her computer skill in editing the tutorial video. Besides, the difficulties
were the writer should take the video for many times and finding the references and
the content of the tutorial video. Hopefully, tutorial video can be the best reference
and helpful for local people at Papuma Beach.
