PT. Gapura Angkasa operates as a ground handling company in Indonesia.
It provides various ground services, encompassing ramp; cargo and warehousing;
passenger and baggage handling; flight operations; and aircraft servicing. The
company was founded in 1998 and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since the
company's founding in 1998, Gapura Angkasa has evolved into the largest ground
handling company in Indonesia, leading the local ground handling scene. For that
reasons, the writer interested and decided to conduct an internship program in PT.
Gapura Angkasa.
As the student of English Study Program, the writer also conducted the
internship program as the terms before graduation. In the internship program, the
writer can apply skills and the knowledge which the writer got from the lecturing
and practicum class.
Allotment of time for Internship Program at PT. Gapura Angkasa was 384
hours. It started on April 3, 2017 and ended up on June 08, 2017. In a working
day, an employee must work within 8 hours. A one day working is divided 1 shift,
but when was in the airport, the working time was different like usual. They are
Morning shift, and Night Shift. Morning shift starts from 7 A.M. up to 3 P.M.
Night Shift starts from 12 P.M. to 8 P.M.
Being a PASASI staff, the writer was learned how to serve the passenger
well, how to speak politely, how to make a good communication, faced a real
work at the airport with kind of problems and also how to solve all the problems
while in the check-in process up to on the departure gate.
