Banyuwangi culture and Tourism Department has four divisions; there are Secretariat Division (Kesekretariatan), Culture Division (Bidang Kebudayaan), Tourism Division (Bidang Pariwisata) and Marketing Tourism (Bidang Pemasaran).During I did my internship program in Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department I focused in one division, it was culture division. In this division I can learn about cultures in Banyuwangi, how to keep or preserve the cultures and also manage the culture so the culture can exist and grow until now.
This internship program started form 5 March until 18 May 2018 or about 384 hours (50 days) and the activities in this department starts on Monday up to Friday from 07.00 am until 03.30 pm. During I did my Internship Program I got a lot of activities, new experience and new knowledge such as joining Banyuwangi Actualization Weekend, Karya Tari Festival, Banyuwangi Race Photo Competition, Handling Letter, Handling Telephoned, Handling the SKPD (Surat Ketetapan Pajak Daerah) and SPT (Surat Pemberitahuan). I got some problem during I did my Internship Program in Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department such as I cannot operate the fax machine so I ask to the staff of Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department how to operate the fax machine and he told me.
Then, when I do Internship Program I also learnt how to be a professional worker, how to be discipline such as I should came on time when I go to office, how to manage and develop culture and tourism object in Banyuwangi. Based on my explanation above I conclude that Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department is appropriate place to do Internship Program. It is because I got a lot of experience and also knowledge when I do Internship Program there and could apply my knowledge and skill that I got when I study in my collage.
Based on my explanation above, I concluded that Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department is a great place to conduct my Internshp Program because I could apply my knowledge that I got from my collage such as English for correspondence, English for secretary, and English for tour and travel. Then, I also could learn more about culture and tourism object in Banyuwangi, get the new experience and knowledge when I do the Internship Program there.
I suggest to the Student of English Study Program to do Internship Program in Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Departmentbecause I think this is a great place to apply the knowledge that we got from collage well.Then if you want to do the internship program in Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Department should prepare all of the skill such as computer skill especially Microsoft Office, Communication skill, Correspondence, and also have a good attitude.
