Subtitling Video as Learning Media for Horticulture Crop Production Study Program in Politeknik Negeri Jember, Citra NurfitriaNingrum, F31151285, 2018, 56 pages, Language, Communication and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Vigo Dewangga, SS. M.Pd, as the Supervisor of this final project.

Horticulture Crop Production is one of study program in Politeknik Negeri Jember that focuses on horticulture. This study program also learns about English that was related for the students needs such as English for Horticulture. The lecturer of this subject give the kind of learning media for the students and one of them is video. But the students have difficulty to learn the subject by video moreover the video is using English Language. So by subtitling video in Indonesian language, the students can understand the whole contents of the video easily and quickly.
In this final project, the writer used 7 review of literature from some experts. Those reviews of literature are learning media, video, translation, procedures of translation, subtitling, procedures of subtitling and last is data collecting methods. The review of literature was talking about the definition and also the procedures from some experts.
The process of making subtitling video entitled “How to Grow and Harvest Strawberry Plant” from English language into Indonesian language. There are 7 steps to making subtitling video. Those are Subtitle Formatting Timing, Preliminary Review, Generation of Translation Template, Translation of subtitling video, Translation of Subtitling Video Review, Subtitle Placement and File Output. Then there are two kinds of data collecting methods that the writer used, they are interview and documentation.
There are 2 result and discussion of making this product they were the result of data collecting methods and the result of procedure in subtitling process. In the result of data collecting methods they are two kinds of data collecting methods that were the result of interview and documentation. While there are 7 results and discussion of procedures in subtitling process those are Subtitle Formatting Timing, Preliminary Review, Generation of Translation Template, Translation of subtitling video, Translation of Subtitling Video Review, Subtitle Placement and File Output. In translation of subtitling procedure, there are 5 result and discussion about procedures of translating those are Adaptation, Borrowing, Amplification, Reduction and Particularization.
Hopefully this subtitling video could become a learning media for the process of teaching and learning for the lecturer of English for Horticulture subject and for Students of Horticulture Crop Production study program in Politeknik Negeri Jember.
