ABSTRACT

The Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a power plant that utilizes hot steam to rotate the turbine due to the heating of the water being spoiled using coal fuel. The Steam Power Plant (PLTU) works with the Rankine cycle with Reheater and Regenerative. Installation of Feedwater Heater in the PLTU with the intention of increasing the temperature of the water that will enter and be heated into the boiler, so that the steam temperature is higher and the boiler is not too heavy in the working system. The energy used for Feedwater Heater comes from extraction of steam turbines. However, the improper extraction process can reduce the efficiency of the generator cycle, so there is a need for studies to determine the right extraction flow for Feedwater Heaters. Variations are carried out based on General Electric (GE) standards and simulated using the Gate Cycle Software. Based on the analysis of the effect of variations in turbine extraction on boiler efficiency, Heat Rate, and the power produced, extraction comparisons used at the PT. YTL is still not good compared to the results of variations in software analysis. Comparison of the best extraction variations occurs in variation 8 with a ratio (8% - 7%), namely the boiler efficiency value of 95.15%, the heat rate value of 8382 kJ / kWh, and the generated power value of 636,024 MW.
