ABSTRACT
The research entitled The Effectiveness of Concentration and Seed Soaking Time in the Giberelin Solution on the Komasti Coffee Seed Germination and Growth is aimed to determine the Giberelin concentration and the proper soaking time for the Komasti coffee seed germination and growth, one of the ways to increase the the Komasti coffee seed production and productivity is using ZPT Giberelin (GA3) and soaking time. This research was conducted on August – December 2017 in the laboratory and field of Politeknik Negeri Jember. The experiment design used was Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) which consisted of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the Giberelin concentration (K) which consisted of control treatment K0 = without Giberelin concentration, K1 = 25 mg/l, K2 = 50 mg/l, K3 = 75 mg/l, K4 = 100 mg/l. The second factor is soaking time (L) which consisted of treatment L1 = 6 hours, L2 = 12 hours, L3 = 24 hours. The treatment of 100 mg/l of Giberelin (K4) had a significant effect (**) on the germination power, growth simultaneity, 30 days after planting (DAP) plant height, 60 days after planting (DAP) plant height, 90 days after planting (DAP) plant height, 120 days after planting (DAP) plant height, root length. The soaking time treatment did not show a significant effect on all parameters. There was not an interaction (ns) of the Giberelin concentration treatment and soaking time on all parameters.
