SUMMARY
Translating an e-book entitled Operating System Concepts 9th Edition page 116-136 for student of Information Technology Department at Politeknik Negeri Jember, Wahyu priyo sugiharta, F31152032, 2018, 26 pages, Language, Communication, and Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Titik Ismailia, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Supervisor).
There are many languages has existed in the world as like English, Arabic, Chinese, Indonesia, etc. In which, it occurs any incomperhensibility among those language usage that is causing the way of communicating or giving and accepting information. Therefore, it is necessary to have a proccess to connect one language to another, that is translation.
In the field of education, the results of translation are used as references of lecturing materials by using textbooks or journals that are written in the form of English language to support the learning and teaching process. Like IT department that used an E-book, the E-book entitled “Operating System Concepts, Ninth Edition” is used by the lecturer and students of all study program of IT department at Politeknik Negeri Jember from 1st – 3rd smester. It is main learning material for conducting the teaching learning. In which, this E-book contains information about operating system that is actually as the based material for that smester. This book was published in United state of America which is certainly use English language. Whereas, the students of IT department do not understand Engish well till it complicates them in catching the information or message of the book and decrease their willing in studying this material out of the class themselves. Because of those problems, the writer conducted this translation project and the writer would be focus on translating the E-book in page 116 – 136 who translated this e-book from English to Indonesia.
In conducting this translation project, The writer used by Nida and Taber (1982). In which, there are three phases to do, they are analyzing, transfering and restructuring, that was done step by step. Those 3 proccess have its own different
