Internship program is a program that held by Politeknik Negeri Jember to measure the capability of the students while they faced the real work, such as company training. Royal Hotel N’ Lounge was a place that I chose for doing my internship program, because I think this place would help me to expand my competences especially in term of communication. The internship program had been conducted for three months in Royal Hotel N’ Lounge Jember. It was started from 1st March up to 31st May 2018. In conducting this program, I was placed in Food and Beverage (F&B) Service Department. In this department, I was given a chance to be a waiter at Ruby’s Restaurant. Here, I learned many things that I did not get in college. I also knew what the roles of being a waiter. The activities that I had done during had roles as waiter were being a greeter, taking order, being a runner, preparing buffet for breakfast, helping the banquet, staff for setting event, and arranging the menu set. Having finished the job training in Royal Hotel N’ Lounge Jember, I got new knowledge and experiences about hospitality and workplace behavior before entering the hotel. Furthermore, it will help me to adapt with the real workplace later.
