ABSTRACT


PTPN X PG PesantrenBaru Kediri is one of the industrial sectors that supplies its own energy because the energy needed to process sugarcane is supporting industrial activities by utilizing the by-product of bagasse as boiler fuel. The boiler used is atype boiler water tube , where ignition is carried out outside a pipe containing high temperature condensate water until the water changes phase from liquid to steam. The boiler efficiency at PTPN X PabrikGulaPesantrenBaru Kediri factory decreases every year so that the production of steam produced also decreases. The method used to determine the decrease in boiler efficiency is an indirect method. The results of this study were the highest sugarcane bagasse energy in 2016 of 16115102856.21 kJ while the lowest sugarcane energy in 2017 was 5127532368 kJ. The reduction factor of boiler efficiency is total heat loss, the lowest total heat loss occurs in 2017 amounting to 496.12 kcal / kg, this is due to the low heating value of the bagasse pulp.
