ABSTRACT

This study to determine the effect of different levels of protein and metabolic energy on the efficiency of male laying hens and to determine the best level of protein and metabolic energy affecting feed efficiency. Data analysis used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 5 replications, 4 treatments consisting of P1 (protein level 22% and EM 3100kcal / gram), P2 (protein level 20% and EM 3000kcal / gram), P3 (protein level 18% and EM 2900kcal / gram) and P4 (protein level 16% and EM 2800kkal / gram). Feed and drinking water are given adlibitum. The results showed that differences in protein levels and metabolic energy had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The best treatment is found on P4 so it is recommended to maintain male laying hens using a protein level of 22% and EM 3100 kcal / gram.
