Diesel Motor Analysis Using Biodiesel (Methyl Ester)Fuel From Jelantah Oil Agains Of Exhaust Emissions

ABSTRACT

Biodiesel is one of an alternative fuel that made from jelantah oil. This is a renewable biodiesel, So they could be used as a solution to fixed the reserve fossil fuels and air pollution level caused by the exhaust gases motor diesel fuel with the fossil fuels. Biodisel from jelantah oil get from Renewable energy laboratory of State Polytechnic of Jember. Before used to diesel engine mix the diesel fuel with fuel variation in comparison diesel fuelB-0 (solar 100% : biodiesel 0%), B-25, B-50, dan B-100. Then apply to diesel engine yanmar TF55R to know the exhaust gases motor fuel with the constan speed 2000 rpm imposition of variation 200 Watt until 2000 Watt. From the test acquired calorific value LHV and HHV with added biodisel fuel calorific value from that fuel that better than pure diesel fuel. In the exhaust gases motor diesel fuel acquired real score in 2000 Watt with CO2 the smallest B-100 that 5,20%, CO the smallest B-0 that 0,001%, and HC the smallest B-100 that 7 ppm. The exhaust gases motor diesel fuelmentioned that B-100 fuel is better than others can be seen fromCO2 content and HC meanwhile in CO contentis the best B-0 fuel.
