ABSTRACT


Increased population activity causes increased energy needs. By utilizing waste from agricultural products and industrial waste from population activities as biogas will be able to reduce the problem. Biogas is a gas obtained from anaerobic fermentation process of organic matter. The material used came from tofu waste water and rice straw using a molasses starter. The research was carried out by determining the composition of the mixture of biogas filling. Mixing the filling material composition was divided into treatment 1 (control), treatment 2 (C/N ratio 20), treatment 3 (C/N ratio 30), treatment 4 (C/N ratio 40). Fermentation carried out for 30 days found production volume and rate in a row of treatment 1 (control) 8700.3 ml and 436.6 ml, Treatment 2 (C/N ratio 20) 11683.3 ml and 414.3 ml, Treatment 3 ( C/N ratio 30) 18525.0 ml and 805.8 ml, Treatment 4 (C/N ratio 40) 10858.3 ml and 509.8 ml. Treatment 3 (C/N ratio 30) results in the largest volume of gas production and the best rate with a blue flame.
