ABSTRACT



The research was aimed to find a combination of Kinetin and Coconut Water concentration effective for the induction of morphogenesis of tobacco leaf explants (Nicotiana tabacum L. Besuki Na-Oogst var. H 382). This research was carried out in the plant tissue culture laboratory, State Polytechnic of Jember from November 2017 up to February 2018. This research was designed with randomize block design with two factors. The first factor was the Kinetin concentration, consisted of two levels i.e. 2 ppm and 4 ppm. The second factor was Coconut Water concentration, consisted of four levels i.e. 0 % ; 7,5 %; 15 %; and 22,5 %. The result showed that the combinations of growth regulators Kinetin and Coconut Water gave effect on the length of shoots is 0,88 cm/explant). Consentration of kinetin 4 ppm is the best for number of shoots (259 shoots/explant) and consentration of kinetin 2 ppm is best for number of roots and length of roots. While consentration of Coconut Water 22,5% showed best for length of shoots (0,80 cm/explant).
