MAKING A PROMOTIONAL VIDEO OF WADUK SIDODADI IN GLENMORE - BANYUWANGI
SUMMARY
Making APromotional Video of Waduk Sidodadi in Glenmore - Banyuwangi, Putri Ayu Ashari, Nim. F31150331, Year 2018,34pages, English Study Program, Politeknik Negeri Jember, Nila Susanti, S.S, M.Pd. (Supervisor ).
Waduk Sidodadi is a new tourism object that is located in PTP Nusantara XII Kalirejo, Glenmore, Banyuwangi. Waduk Sidodadi is reservoir that is used for watering plantation purposes of Kalirejo garden. In addition, Waduk Sidodadi has great potential to be tourism object. That is why, the manager of Waduk Sidodadi sets up this place as a new tourism object. Unfortunately, this tourism object does not has any promotional media to promote this tourism object. Based on that reason, the writer decided to make a promotional video of Waduk Sidodadi in Glenmore – Banyuwangi entitled “The Beauty of Waduk Sidodadi”.
This video showed all the beauty of the Waduk Sidodadi with duration about 7 minutes. The writer also made an interesting concept of this product and the writer divided into three parts, there were part one (opening), part two (content), and part three (closing).
In conducting this final project, the writer needed the data to complete this final project. First, the writer did interview with the manager of PTP Nusantara Xll Kalirejo and also interview with the local society. Second, the writer did observation related facilities and outdoor activities that available in waduk sidodadi and checked the price of ticket in every existing ride. Third, the writer did documentation related to the number of visitors who came to Waduk Sidodadiand checked other information from the internet. Fourth, the writer did audiovisual material to take some video directly in Waduk Sidodadi.
In making this promotional video, the writer adapted the procedure fromPham (2013), they are pre-production, production, post production and distribution. This promotional video used English version and provide subtitles in Bahasa Indonesia because the target of the video is not only foreign tourist but also domestic tourist. Hopefully with this promotional video, the foreign and domestic tourists will know the existence and potential of this area, so that it can impact on the number of tourists visiting this developing region.
In finishing this final project the writer faced some problems. They were about someone who stopped the shooting process and the writer explained that the writer had been permitted by the manager to do shooting. Then, the writer could not edit this video by herself so that, the writer hired an editor to edit the video.It was because the writer has a little bit knowledge about editing video. Even though the writer found some problems in making this final project, the writer got some benefits like the writer could apply writing skill and translation skill.
