ABSTRACT

Biomass is one form of alternative energy that can be utilized by the briquette method. Biomass which can be used as biobriquette material is the processing industry of coconut fiber processing in the form of baby fiber. Earnings of baby fiber in one month amounted to 31,368 tons, the amount of waste produced from processing coconut fiber can cause problems in the surrounding environment. In the process of making biobriquette from coconut fiber waste, high pressure is needed on the pressing process and small material size. The adhesive used is molasses with a ratio of 30%: 70%. Using a variation of press 22 kg/cm2, 27 kg/ cm2, 33 kg/cm2. The results showed that the baby fiber biobriquette used pressure on the fixing process to produce the best biobriquette pressure of 33 kg/cm2 with the standard approach SNI 01-6235-2000 still included in the SNI standard, such as 3.83% moisture content, 4.64% ash content, density 1.34 gr/cm3, press test 6.27 kg/cm2, while the heating value 3941.47 cal/gr approaches the SNI standard.
