ABSTRACT

Maize is one of important foodstuff because it is the biggest source of carbohydrate after rice. The demand of maize has continued to increase every year. The variety of hybrid maize has been proven to give better yields than the yields of open pollinated maize, for instance, hybrid maize produces 15-20 % higher yields than the yields of open pollinated maize. This study aims to determine the best productivity from each maize furrows tested in Jember regency. The research was conducted using Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting 7 treatments which are maize var. bisi-18 (V1), var. DK 979 (V2), NMH 111 furrow (V3), NMH 222 furrow (V4), NMH 333 furrow (V5), NMH 444 furrow ( V6) and NMH 555 furrow (V7). The data was analyzed using Analysis Of Variance, The results showed that maize furrow tested in jember regency have good productivity. Especially treatment V7 (NMH 555 furrow) which produces 15,04 Tons/Ha of dry shelled corn. The yields of dry shelled products from V7 is better than comparison variety V1 which only produces 12,29 Tons/Ha of dry shelled corn. But if V7 is compared to the comparison variety V2, the yields of V7 is lower than yields of V2 which is 15,13 Tons/Ha.
