ABSTRACT

Seed priming is a preliminary treatment that can be applied to egg plant seeds in order to break the dormancy and to increase the viability. The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of PEG 6000 concentration and the different period of treatment to the viability of egg plant (Solanum melongena L) seed. The research was conducted by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors and 12 treatment combinations. The first factor is the concentrations of PEG (A) consisting 30% PEG concentration (A1), 40% PEG concentration (A2),), and 50% PEG concentration (A3).   The second factor is the periods of treatment consisting 2 days treatment period (B1), 4 days (B2), 8 days (B3) and 12 days (B4). There was no significant result from all parameters.
