<note>ABSTRACT
	
Cattleya orchid are excellent ornamental flower because these flower have a beautiful crown. Based on the Centre Institution of Statistic, the market demands of Cattleya orchid are continue to increase every year. Conventional propagation as stem cutting, are not much promising rather than through tissue culture. However, the problem of orchid propagation using tissue culture is the costly materials for media.
The purpose of this study is to find the alternative mediums which are less expensive compared to the Vacint and Went ( VW ) media. This research was conducted from February to June 2014 at Tissue Culture Laboratory of State Polytechnic of Jember.
The research was conducted by using Completely Randomized Design          ( CRD ) non factorial using 5 treatment, namely P1 ( Vacin and Went ), P2 ( ½ Vacin and Went ). P3 ( Liquid Organic Fertilizer 5 ml/L ), P4 (Liquid Organic Fertilizer 10 ml/L ), P5 (Liquid Organic Fertilizer 15 ml/L ) with 5 replications in each treatment.
The result showed that media consist 10 ml/L of Liquid Organik Fertilizer gave the best effect in the rate of root growth, the amounts of roots and shoots in cattleya orchid with the values 14,23 days, 2,90 and 2,37 respectively.</note>
